Scams To Keep Your Eyes Peeled On

People get scammed. You don't wanna get scammed, do you? Well, these are some of the general rules.

  1. Don't give out ANY personal information. For example, if someone says "If you give me your password I'll give you my Founder's Hat." DON'T DO IT!!!!!! D: It's the oldest trick in the book.
  2. Don't fall for the "Are you Cool?" scam. If someone says "If you don't give me nm bat wings you're a loser!" Whoa whoa whoa! O.o That's a bit too far. Don't worry if you run into that, everyone's cool in their own way. :3 So don't fall for that.
  3. Trade what you want to trade. If you love an item that you love for life, then don't trade it. If you have a founders hat you love, don't trade it. Put the items you don't really like and want better items for them on you trade list.
  4. Rares is not what Animal Jam is about. It's important that you remember this. If you don't, this will make animal jam a non-safe game. Remember it's all about having fun and meeting people around the world.
You learned about how to not get scammed. Questions? Dude, we got answers!

Q. What is Scamming?
A. Scamming is tricking someone into their items, which are rares. This makes Animal Jam less fun. Hacking is also a type of scam. Hacking is when someone asks for you information, and then goes on your account and sends your rares to their account.

Q. Why do people scam and hack?
A. They are desperate for rares and found out scamming and hacking is the best way (actually the worst) way to get rares. ALOT of people joined to stop scamming and hacking. You should too.

Q. Is it okay to be sad about getting scammed or hacked?
A. It's fine! That's part of the whole reason why people want to stop scamming and hacking! I was sad when I got scammed, it's okay to be sad.

You learned tips to not get scammed. Some questions were answered, have more comment below! Wanna learn ways scammers scam so you can't get scammed?

  1. Sending The Items Scam-Lets say you have a top hat that you love. In Jamaa, you see someone saying: "Send me rares and I'll send you a Cami's Frog!" You send a top hat and guess what? It's the opposite of getting the Cami's Frog! The person (or in this case, animal) runs off without giving it back!
  2. Youtube Scam-Say that you want a spike collar. You're on youtube and you search up "Spike Collar Giveaway". On the top, you see "Code for Founder's Hat! (NO SCAM!)". You click it and it says to give your username and password and they'll give the founder's hat on the account. But really, they're just taking every single rare you have! Never listen to the "no scam"part.
  3. Contest Crash-Let's say that your in Jamaa township, and you see someone dancing saying: "Best rare gets my Headdress! No Scam at all!"You send rares like viking helmets, betas, spikes, hot cocoa machine, gloves, anything that a lot of people would be desperate for. Instead of anyone winning, the person runs off without saying anything!
  4. "I'm From Animal Jam" Scam-Imagine you have an item not out yet or a very rare item you see a friend request pop up and you accept. You see their username like AnimalJamCrew or AJGuide, something similar to AJHQ. The person walks up to you and says something along the lines of: "Hello, I'm from AJHQ. I want you to know that your (rare or item not out yet, say a worn) will be updated soon. I want to borrow your item so Animal Jam can update it." Okay, first off, Animal Jam can edit their own game! They can just edit the item's "new style". Second of all, Animal Jam Workers have an AJ badge on their tag and when you click on it, it says Animal Jam Guide as their username. So they probably don't have it.
  5. "I'm Poor" Scam-You're in Jamaa Township, Coral Canyons, etc and you see a bunny with no cloths on and looks like the bunny when you first get it. The bunny says, "SEND ME RARES I'M POOR!" They could be telling the truth, or they're lying. A way to test this out is to look at they're achievements, look at their animals and trade list if they have any rare items, but they can be prepare for that, or tell them to recycle animals if they have a lot. You can also give them items you can buy and tell them to recycle them.
  6. The Doubling Dead End-You have a Cami's Frog that you really love and wont trade it for a single thing on aj. Let's say a person with a lot of rare items shows up and says, "I can double that item for you. Send me it and I'll send it back with the copy of the item." LIE!!! Never ever do that! It will be your worst (or one of your worst) mistakes in your whole life! The scammer will just run away!
  7. Try-on The Item Scam-I once fell for this scam once. Someone will be your buddy and you will have an amazing time with each other, then they see an item they want, say nm bat wings. They would ask, "Hi, can I try on your nm bat wings? I want to see how it looks on me." A way to try this out is to show them what it looks like on the animal they are. Or, if you have a spare of the rare, you can give that. You don't have to unbuddy them, just say no, but if you want, unbuddy them.
  8. Believer Basher-Imangine this: You have a buddy that has another buddy who has a ton of rare items, like betas and rare items that a million people want. Most of the time, this scam comes in pairs or more. If one doesn't succeed, usually the other one will. So, they would have BILLIONS of rare items on their account. Sooner or later, they will say they need a few more rare items and betas to complete they're collection. When they find someone who have the item(s), they will want to have them. Part 1: You may be suspicious about them at first, so they'll say they'll give you their password in one condition: if you give them YOUR password, or else you'll get reported, which is the worst threat ever because you wont get banned cause you've done NOTHING wrong! So you believe them and give them your password, so when they're on your account, they will steal every rare you got and they want, and spend your gems on epic wonder's stuff. Part 2: If you don't accept the "trade", they will let someone else make you believe them by going on they're account.
  9. Rare for More Rare Item Scam-Imagine this: You see someone saying: "If you send me a rare I'll send you something more rare!" It's a very likely scam. This is not that rare, but it's a common scam.
  10. It's NOT My Birthday!-Say you see someone saying: "Today is my Birthday send me items!" It's always 1% that it's their birthday. Btw, how do we know it's they're birthday? You can send them a couple of plushies, but no rares.
  11. Partner Scamming Thank You Roseyicywolf for reminding me of this scam-Say that you are saving up for diamonds for a lion, arctic wolf, etc, or you want member ship and your saving money for it. Then you see someone saying, "IF YOU WANT (any animal with a gift card or membership, let's say a lion) COME TO MY DEN!!" So you  go to his/her den. He/She demands to get a rare first. Some people will say, "SCAM!!" and "SCAMMER!" But there is someone with a lion or any animal with a gift card, or with membership, and he/she says: "It's no scam I got mine from him/her." So people will think it's enough evidence for them, so they send a rare. Guess what? BYE BYE RARES! YOU BELONG TO A SCAMMER SADLY NOW!! Hear me out: once a code is used it can't be used again. If you had a code for membership or any giftcard animal, why would you want rares for it?\
  12. "Im Dying!" Scam You are in Jamaa Township, then you see someone saying, "IM DYING SEND ME A RARE TO SAY GOODBYE TO ME!"Okay, so you feel sad, so you send them a gift to show that you care, well guess what? YOU JUST GOT SCAMMED! He/She wasn't dying. Think about this: If they were dying, they wouldn't do anything with the items!
